RESTORE THE WOLF & PROPOSITION 114
WHY RESTORE THE WOLF?
Colorado has been missing the wolf for 75 years. Some come and go, but in order to restore the balance, and have long-term success, a plan to reintroduce them is necessary.
-
Wolves help with the balance of nature in our ecosystem
-
It will greatly improve our economy in depressed areas where wolves will be reintroduced west of the Continental Divide
-
They are native to our state
WHAT IS PROPOSITION 114?
Colorado’s Proposition 114 marks the first time that voters, not the federal government, would direct state wildlife managers to script a recovery plan for wolves.
By voting YES on Proposition 114, we are taking politicians out of the picture and instead directing Colorado Parks and Wildlife to develop, with public input, a science-based plan to safely reintroduce wolves across our 17-million acres of public land in a manner that respects ranchers and begins the process of restoring Colorado's natural balance for our future generations.
Some Goals Include:
-
For CPW to develop a plan to reintroduce gray wolves
-
Hold hearings across the state to gather information
-
Put wolves on the ground by 2023
