Several places. First and foremost, our animals get the best of everything. They are on a 100% raw meat diet, they get fish oil every week, and special meatballs with glucosamine/chondroitin go to our senior animals. It also goes to improvements; the money allows us to repair, replace, and build. Our most recent was an expansion of our wolf enclosures, not to mention we have an onsite vet room, meat storage, evacuation site, equipment for maintenance, an amphitheater for education purposes, and general operations to survive.
We also provide jobs and housing to security.
We do give out donations on a case by case basis. 99% of donations are gift certificates for animal oriented causes only.
We also accept donations. We are a licensed 501-‐c-‐3 charity, so any monetary donations are tax deductible.
We accept meat as long as it is not processed, does not have spices, or is under three years old. We do not accept cooked meat of any kind (including smoked), any type of pork, or fish with bones. Any person donating will need to fill out a USDA form and provide a valid drivers license. Our nutritionist checks out all meat for us so it needs to be fresh.
Yes. There are at least four to five people 24/7.
We believe that mental stimulation is very important. We do pen rotations, and provide hides, bones, and social interaction. For more information, please see our videos.
We have seasonal opportunities. Usually three to four interns are accepted during the season. Each intern must be in a related field of study, and can commit to a minimum of three months. We do not provide housing.
We hire on occasion, however, the decision to hire is given to volunteers/interns first, as people have worked up to that position and shown their dedication.
